Welcome to Empire House
Originally built by Cardiff architects Percy Thomas and Ivor Jones in 1926, Empire House was the vision of Commander Charles E Evans, chairman of Evans and Reid one of the largest coal exports in Wales. This building became an iconic landmark within Mount Stuart Square.
The aim of the developers was to refurbish the Grade II* listed building into 37 luxury apartments with an additional rear and two storey upper extension. Keen to expose and retain the original features, the developers have sympathetically restored the mahogany panelling and black and white marble flooring to the entrance hall. Extensive refurbishment has also been carried out to the central lift continuing the traditional Neo Georgian feel throughout.
The development - situated with doorstep access to the vibrant culture and history of Cardiff Bay - includes open plan one- and two-bedroom apartments. Also included is an additional 3460 sqft four bedroom duplex penthouse suite, offering panoramic views across the city from three private terraces. This exciting development will offer all residents on site concierge service, secure fob access parking and video intercom entry system. Facilities will include a fitness area and function room to the basement of the building.
